The training and Placement cell provides excellent training to the students of EGSPASC to get better employment. It also offers coaching to get through the competitive examinations in order to get their ambitious jobs at government sector. In order to provide more assistance to the students, respective department are also conducting awareness program and coaching for benefit of their students.

The college has a well-equipped language lab which facilitates students to acquire efficiency in soft skills and gives proper training to eradicate the complexities of speaking English. It also helps in improving the skills of students who have poor communication skills.

In the academic year 2015 – 2016, the department of computer science conducted soft skill development course between 05.03.2016 and 02.04.2016. it has been planned with 12 sessions like
(i) Understanding the communicative environment
(ii) What to listen for
(iii) Starting and sustaining a conversation
(iv) What to present and how
(v) Multimedia presentation
(vi) Communication styles in group
(vii) Visual perception,, body languages
(viii) Managing time
(ix) Applying soft skills to workplace

41 students had been participated in this course. Feedback had been collected from all the participants and certificate was issued to all of them.
The students admitted in our institution are from economically and educationally backward. Based on the student’s performance in the internal test, they have been identified as advanced learners and slow learners. Advanced learners or bright students are appreciated well with some cash awards and they will be motivated to attend more technical and non technical events organized at various institutes across the state/ national level and international level. Slow learners have been found out from internal test and university examinations performance and they will be given additional care to make the students to get pass in all subjects. To achieve this, after identification they will be grouped together and will be given remedial teaching with different faculties for different courses. Those faculties will regularly monitor the performance of these students in the coaching session and provides coaching accordingly.

In the academic year 2017 – 2018, the department of information technology had conducted remedial classes for all three year students. First they identified the slow learners from cycle test performance. Special schedule have been prepared. Faculties are instructed to monitor the student’s performance regularly on their coaching.
Based on their segregation, 21 students from I year, 36 students from II year and 28 students from third year out of 42, 56 and 49 students respectively. Schedule planned between 09.10.2017 and 20.10.2017.
Before starting regular classes to the first year students they have been provided with bridge courses for transferring their mind set from school to college. It also helps the students to boost their confidence level. Classes like communication skills, language skills, introductory classes to the laboratories and fundamental courses to brush up their technical skills.

The department of English organized bridge courses for first year students regularly at starting of academic year. In the academic year 2015 – 2016, schedule was prepared based on the syllabi with

(vi) Letter writing
(vii) Essay writing
20 students had been participated; feedback was collected from all the students.
The college organizes Yoga and Meditation sessions at regular intervals. These sessions prove to be highly fruitful in relieving the students as well as faculty members from their hectic schedules.

The Department heads will appoint mentors to all students based on the faculty student teacher ratio. They will offers free personal counseling to the students which provide them an opportunity to discuss various aspects of life. Sometimes youngsters find themselves at cross roads and the aim of personal counseling is to make them stress free and to uplift their confidence. Stress management, difficult relationships, difficulties with friends, family, teachers, depression, anger management, disorder of eating habits are few problems for which students are counseled. The counseling details are mentioned in the students counseling record. If necessary those records will be kept confidential. The counseling process and participation in personal counseling is not shared.
In addition to mentor counseling, a psychologist Dr. Jimmy Corter have been appointed to provide better counseling for the students those who require special attention. He visits our institution at regular interval and provides counseling to the students. Students those who attended the counseling have expressed their happiness over counseling to the department heads and to their mentors.

Our institution initiated Career Oriented Guidance and Counseling Programmes. The purpose of these structured programmes is to help the students in the proper choice of course and their career development. This cell takes steps to enhance the capabilities and skills of the students so that they can establish their identity by choosing a suitable career.
